Waiter (Steward)

 

Job Description & Key Responsibilities:

A waiter (steward) is responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences by greeting guests, taking accurate food and beverage orders, serving dishes, and processing payments. They maintain cleanliness in the dining area, upsell menu items, and resolve guest issues, requiring strong communication, multitasking, and guest service skills.

• Customer Service: Greet guests, present menus, explain daily specials, and provide recommendations.
• Order Taking: Take accurate food and drink orders, often using POS software, and communicate them to the kitchen staff.
• Service: Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring proper presentation and quality.
• Table Maintenance: Clear dirty dishes, sanitize tables, and rearrange seating for new guests.
